---- — Carol Ann “Kay” Fultz, 85, of Mt. Vernon, died 1:27 a.m. Thursday, May 15, 2014, at Good Samaritan Regional Health Center in Mt. Vernon.
She was born Tuesday, Dec. 25, 1928, in Findlay, Ohio, the daughter of Clarence Arthur and Caroline Elizabeth (Best) Pressnell. She married Eugene Fultz on June 4, 1960, in Morehead, Ky., and he preceded her in death on April 10, 2001.
Kay was an active member of the Mt. Vernon Elks (B.P.O.E.) Lodge 819, she supported all military clubs including the American Legion Auxiliary and V.F.W. Auxiliary and she was a member of Mt. Vernon Gun & Sportsman Club and a local bridge club. She also was an anonymous donor of bulletproof vests to the Mt. Vernon Police Department K-9 Unit.
She is survived by sister-in-law, Dr. Lucille Pressnell of Ballwin, Mo.; six nieces; two nephews; and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, William F. Pressnell and Robert A. Pressnell; and two sisters, Yulabelle Opperman and Norma Jean Pressnell.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in the chapel at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn with Mr. J. Howard Kraps officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon and from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 10 a.m. Monday in the chapel at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn.
