Randall E. “Randy” Henson, 51 years, 2 months and one day old, a resident of Mt. Vernon, died 10:12 p.m. Friday, May 23, 2014, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
He was born March 22, 1963, in Morris, the son of Delbert and Marianne (Handzo) Henson. He was married to Marla (Loman) Henson.
Randy worked at Kendrick Paper Stock in Mt. Vernon as a foreman and later worked at Benoist Brothers Supply Company in Mt. Vernon as a warehouse supervisor.
He was a member of the Lebanon Missionary Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon. He enjoyed singing at various local churches and reading.
He is survived by parents, Delbert and Marianne Henson; wife, Marla (Loman) Henson of Mt. Vernon; son, Dakota Wade Williams of Belle Rive; grandsons, Archer Wade Williams of Belle Rive and Hayden Williams of Cabot, Ariz.; brother, Tony Joe Henson and wife Jewellene of Cornell; sisters, Mary Jo Sanders and husband Roger of Cedarhill, Tenn., Sharon Hayes and husband Paul of Springfield and Debbie Simmons and husband Jay of Dix; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Kenneth and Judy Loman of Mt. Vernon; three brothers-in-law; six sisters-in-law; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews..
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Megan Danielle Henson.
Funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. tonight at Lebanon Missionary Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon with the Rev. Travis Hayes officiating. Mr. Henson will be cremated following the funeral service.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. tonight at Lebanon Missionary Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon.
For those who wish, memorials may be given to the Building Fund at Lebanon Missionary Baptist Church or the Leukemia Foundation and will be accepted at the funeral home or mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 721, Mt. Vernon, IL 62864.
