Polly Elizabeth Busler, 96, of McLeansboro, died 5 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at Hamilton Memorial Nursing Center in McLeansboro.
She was born March 20, 1917, in Hamilton County, the daughter of Carl and Mamie (Douglass) Davis. She married Hal Odle Busler and he preceded her in death.
She worked as a department store manager for ladies’ readywear garments. She was a lifetime member of Norris City Eastern Star and First Baptist Church in Eldorado.
She is survived by brothers, James Henry Davis of Broughton and John Davis of Phoenix; sisters, Kathryn Beshears of Fort Worth, Texas, Virginia Hibdon of Phoenix and Grace Pflaum of Florida; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two daughters, Mary L. Veatch and Betty Hicks; and one grandchild.
Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Hickory Hill Cemetery near Broughton with the Rev. Bob Jones officiating. Interment will be at Hickory Hill Cemetery near Broughton.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service Monday at Gholson Funeral Home.
Memorials may be given to the donor’s choice and will be accepted at Gholson Funeral Home.
