---- — Edward C. Ryan , 94, of McLeansboro, died 6:45 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013, at the home of his son in Mokena.

He was born Jan. 20, 1919, in Imogene, Iowa, the son of Thomas V. and Theresa (Devoy) Ryan. He married Helen M. Pierce on June 5, 1946, and she preceded him in death.

He was a retired barber and horse trainer. He was a member of the U.S. Army Air Force, a veteran of WWII and a former member of McLeansboro American Legion Post 106 and V.F.W. Post. He was a member of St. Clements Catholic Church in McLeansboro.

He is survived by his son, Thomas V. (wife Chris) Ryan of Mokena; daughter, Constance Ann Ryan of McLeansboro; brother-in-law, Thompson Maulding of McLeansboro; and several nieces and nephews, including Tommy Maulding.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Clements Catholic Church in McLeansboro with Father George Mauck conducting the funeral mass. Interment will be at St. Clements Cemetery in McLeansboro with graveside military rites by McLeansboro American Legion Post 106.

Visitation will be held from 8:30 a.m. until the time of service at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Clements Catholic Church.
