Danny Paul Stover, 78, of Bandana Ky., formerly of McLeansboro, died 4:30 a.m. Saturday, June 22, 2013, at his home.
He was born April 2, 1935, in McLeansboro, the son of Walter and Maud (Mezo) Stover. He married Martha Ann (Robertson) Stover; she survives in Bandana, Ky.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Randy Paul Stover and wife Jill of Phoenix; a daughter, Cindy Lou Allardin and husband Randy of Bandana, Ky.; a brother, David Stover of McLeansboro; a sister, Georgana Miller of Benton; a brother-in-law, Jan Rountree of Dale; five grandchildren, Kyle, Morgan and Dustin Allardin and Lisa Hansen and Lindsay Nelson; and two great-grandchildren, Gavin and Joshua Hansen.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Sue Rountree.
Mr. Stover was the former owner of Cotter-Stover Ford in McLeansboro. He was a member of Bandana Baptist Church, Bandana, Ky., and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He played semi-pro ball for the St. Louis Cardinals and loved car racing, fishing and loved playing with his grandkids.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at First General Baptist Church in McLeansboro with the Rev. Ken Cook officiating. Burial will be at Ten Mile Creek Cemetery in McLeansboro.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 24, at First General Baptist Church in McLeansboro.
