Bernice Mae Hunt, 99 years and one month, of Mt. Vernon, died 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 28, 2013, at Residential Living Center in Mt. Vernon.
She was born Wednesday, Oct. 28, 1914, in Wayne City, the daughter of Orval “Si” and Cetta (Stroud) Green. She married Richard Keith Hunt and he preceded her in death.
Bernice worked at the Mt. Vernon Garment Factory until retiring and was a lifetime member of Logan Street Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon.
She is survived by three nephews, Richard Payne and wife Jackie of Wayne City, Kendall Payne and wife Diane of Mt. Vernon and Randy Payne and wife Diana of Wayne City.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sister, Mary Jane Payne; and brother, Paul Green.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the chapel at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn with the Rev. Merle Fullerton officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn.
There will be no visitation.
