---- — Norma Ruth Mullins, 83, of Opdyke, died 6:38 a.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at Good Samaritan Regional Health Center in Mt. Vernon.
She was born Sunday, Sept. 1, 1929, in Mt. Vernon, the daughter of Lawrence and Dolly (Geisler) Poston. She married Rolla “Moon” Mullins on Dec. 21, 1945, in Hopkinsville, Ky. He preceded her in death on Sept. 1, 2006.
Norma worked as a cook for Green Hills Country Club and cleaned houses for Virgil Bailey. She was a member of Howard Community Chapel.
She is survived by two sons, Gary Mullins and wife Helen of Dahlgren and Steve Mullins and wife Stacey of Opdyke; two daughters, Relda O’Dell and husband Gene of Opdyke and Denita McCall of Altamont; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and two brothers, “Little Gary” and “Toke” Poston.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens Chapel in Woodlawn with the Rev. Dennis Myers and the Rev. Don Rector officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn.
Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. Friday at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens Chapel in Woodlawn.
