Stella Marie Donoho, 90, of Mt. Vernon, died 4:52 a.m. Saturday, July 20, 2013, at Mt. Vernon Countryside Manor in Mt. Vernon.
She was born Friday, Aug. 11, 1922, in Lincoln County, Colo., the daughter of Albert B. and Lenora J. (Brown) White. She married James Melvin Donoho on Feb. 14, 1940 in Perryville, Mo.; he preceded her in death on Oct. 16, 1976.
Stella is survived by two sons, Lavern Donoho and wife Patti of Cleburne, Texas and Ron Donoho and wife Carla of Mt. Vernon; two daughters, Barbara A. Voyles and husband David of Wayne City and Shirley M. Pepple and husband Bob of Bluford; nine grandchildren, Tony Donoho and wife Amy of Mt. Vernon, Chris Donoho and wife Melanie of Mt. Vernon, Chad Pepple of Bluford, Jeffrey K. Donoho of Commerce City, Colo., Shelly Duffer of Seaford, Va., Misty Wilson of Mt. Vernon, Faith Bray and husband Justin of Rose Bud, Ark., Kristina Donoho of Raleigh, N.C., and Shannon Donoho of Linden, Va.; a brother, Loren White and wife Emma of Grand Junction, Colo.; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; eight brothers, John, Winfield, Chester, Paul, Floyd, Harold, Milford and Eugene; a sister, Laura Partridge; a son, Jim Donoho; and a grandson, Todd Michael Donoho.
Stella was a caregiver, was an active member of Park Avenue Baptist Church, was involved in the church's food pantry, was active in church mission work and was everyone's Prayer Warrior.
Funeral services will be held 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 23, at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon with the Revs. Merle Fullerton and Gary Davenport officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
