Catherine “Kate” Elaine Hoyt, 43, of Greenville, S.C. and a former resident of Mt. Vernon, passed away 8:30 p.m. Saturday, April 13, 2013, in Greenville, S.C.
Catherine was born Sept. 28, 1969, in Mt. Vernon, a daughter of Billy Armand Hoyt, Sr. and Jane Woodson Hoyt.
Kate was a graduate of Clemson University in Clemson, S.C. She was an accountant and was the finance manager for the Bon Secours St. Francis Medical Center of Greenville, S.C. Her two great loves were the St. Louis Cardinals and her dogs. She also enjoyed going to the beach and spending time with her friends and family.
Kate is survived by her mother, Jane Hoyt of Mt. Vernon; three sisters, Rita Hoyt Smith of Knoxville, Tenn., Mary Ann Williams and husband Dennis of Mt. Vernon and Marguerite Hoyt and husband Ken Sembach of Ellicott City, Md.; two brothers, John Hoyt and wife Cathy of Los Angeles and Bill Hoyt, Jr. and wife Jennifer of St. Louis; one niece, Maggie; five nephews, Christian, Ethan, Matthew, Michael and David. She is also survived by loving friends, Shannon Johnson, Lynda Kimak, Otis and Tessa.
She was preceded in death by her father, Billy Hoyt, Sr.; maternal grandparents, William Dillon Woodson and Mary Elizabeth (Wilson) Woodson; and also paternal grandparents, Roy Edwin Hoyt, Sr. and Marguerite Elizabeth (Schwenk) Hoyt.
Private family funeral services for Catherine will be held at a later date.
