Mary Lee Hogue, 90, of Mt. Vernon, died at 11:05 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at Crossroads Hospital in Mt. Vernon.
She was born Feb. 21, 1923, in Mt. Vernon, the daughter of Guy C. and Ada J. (Hardin) Wallace. On Nov. 18, 1941, in Mt. Vernon, she married Raymond D. Hogue, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 15, 2007.
Mrs. Hogue was a graduate of Mt. Vernon Township High School, and worked as a pharmacist’s assistant for many years. She attended Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and Antioch Christian Church. She enjoyed quilting and crocheting, and enjoyed living at Heritage Woods, where she made many friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Jane Honn and husband Jerry of Galesburg; three grandchildren, Mark, Marcia and Melissa; and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Raymond Hogue, she was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Marguerite Adams.
A graveside funeral service for Mrs. Hogue will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Oakwood Cemetery in Mt. Vernon with Jonathan Schnautz officiating. Visitation will be held from noon to 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Osborn Funeral Home in Dix.
