Anthony Meador

---- — Anthony Ray “Tony” Meador was born on June 7, 1952, in Salem, to Harold N. Meador and Frances I. (Hill) Meador.

He passed from this life on Jan. 20, 2014, in Tulsa, Okla., at the age of 61 years, seven months and 13 days.

Tony had lived in this area since moving here from Illinois in 1985. He is warmly remembered by his family as a man of many talents and a “jack of all trades”. Some of his many vocations over the years included working for Turner Brothers coal mines, a grocery store, auto mechanic, truck driver, crane operator for Webco and as a mechanic for Fiesta Pool & Spa. When he had time for himself, he loved to go “scrapping and junking” and spend time with his children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father; his grandparents; and several aunts and uncles.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of over 41 years, Janet (Nolan) Meador, whom he married on June 24, 1972, in the Donaho Prairie Christian Church of Texaco; his mother, Frances Meador of Centralia; daughter; Gidget Hargrove and husband Ed, of Haskell, Okla.; son, Jeremy Meador and wife Kimberly, of Haskell, Okla.; sister, Linda Schaefer of Murphysboro; six grandchildren, Nathan Hargrove and wife Kristen, Violet Hargrove, Elizabeth Hargrove, Logan Meador, Neavah and Holli Caldera; great-grandson, Jordan Hargrove; and numerous other family members and good friends.

Service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Boynton First Assembly of God Church with interment following in the Haskell Cemetery officiated by the Rev. Cecil Guthrie, the Rev. Kevin Lewis and Lance Tate

Casket bearers are Micky Hargrove, Chris Waddell, Joe Morgan, Al Garcia, Eugene Hargrove, Heath Dismang and Bill Coffer. Honorary bearers are Monroe Cobb, Charles Morgan, Norm Sahm, David Faulkenberry, David Johnson and Roy Fulson, Sr.
