Ann Kingman Harrell passed away in Mobile, Ala., on Dec. 27, 2013, after a short illness and declining health.
Ann was born in Matoon, to Grace May Peters and Charles Dudley Kingman in 1923, and married Alvis Franklin Harrell in 1944. Ab preceded in death Ann on July 22, 2009, in Mobile. Ann was also preceded in death by her daughter, Pamela Harrell Whiteside.
Ann is survived by her two grandsons in Mobile and Afghanistan; her great-grandson in Germany; and her son-in-law in Mobile.
She was a World War II veteran who served as an Army nurse officer in England and France and was a lifelong member of American Legion Post 141 and its auxiliary in Mt. Vernon, where she and Alvis lived from the end of the war until moving to Mobile in 2005.
Ann will be buried in Neoga, her childhood home. A good woman, wife and mother glad to be home.
