Robert D. “Red” Gray, 87, of McLeansboro, passed away at 6:15 a.m. Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, at his home.
He was born July 15, 1925, in Walpole, to Shannon and Julia (Davis) Gray.
He married Jo Ann McGill on June 12, 1948, and she survives.
He was a retired farmer and a member of the McLeansboro First General Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Gray; sons, Clydus (wife Eva Lynn) Gray of McLeansboro, Bob (wife Denise) Gray of McLeansboro and John (wife Vallery) Gray of Dahlgren; daughter, Suzanne (husband Steve) Bonner of McLeansboro; brothers and sisters, Ralph Gray of Eldorado, William H. Gray of Dale, Fern Prince of McLeansboro; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Lois Craddock; and one grandson, Jordan Levi Gray.
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Monday at First General Baptist Church in McLeansboro with Ken Cook and the Rev. Jacob Gray officiating. Interment will follow at Hebron Cemetery near Walpole.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the church.
For those who wish, memorials may be made to the donor’s choice and will be accepted at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
