---- — Sharon J. Maxey, 73, of Mt. Vernon, passed away 6:45 p.m. on Thursday, May 2, 2013, at her residence surrounded by her family.

Sharon was born on May 27, 1939, in Mt. Vernon, the daughter of John and Madeline Curtis Collins. She married Conrad E. Maxey on Dec. 27, 1980, and he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, John Collins, Jr. and Gary Roach.

Left to mourn her passing are two daughters, Marian (Mark) Leahy and Elaine Creadore; a son, Scott (Monica) Maxey; grandchildren, Amber (Adam) Robinson, Matthew (Lea) Creadore, Samantha (Dominic) Phemister, Damon Wright and Emma Maxey; two great-grandsons, Atlas and Apollo Phemister; and siblings, Carolyn Dixon, Paula Steiner, Pierre DuPlessis, Marcel DuPlessis, Marcella Johnson, Paul DuPlessis, Jr. and Lisa Nowak.

To her kids, an always loving and sometimes cantankerous Mom; to her grandkids, an all-knowing Grammie; and to her great grandkids, the fun loving G-G, you will always be loved and missed.

In accordance with her wishes, there will be no public services. Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorial contributions in Sharon’s name may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
