---- — Ronald Gene Wright, 70, of Centralia, passed away Tuesday, May 07, 2013, at St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon.
Ronald was born Sept. 30, 1942, in Mt. Vernon, son of Oran C. Wright and Dorothy V. (Highsmith). He married Joan Twombly in 1980, in Florida and she survives in Centralia.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Michael Gene Wright of Centralia; three daughters, Joy Lyman and husband Bill of Scotch Plains, N.J., Tracy Doubet and husband Cale of Champaign and Veronica Joan Wright of St. Louis; four grandchildren, Jackson Doubet and Kathryn Doubet both of Champaign and Cody Lyman and Hannah Lyman both of Scotch Plains, N.J.; a brother, Roger Dean Wright and wife Anne of The Villages, Fla.; and a sister-in-law, Mary Jane (Wright) Broeckling of Centralia.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Richard Allen Wright; and a son Ronald G. Wright, Jr.
Ronald graduated from Mt. Vernon High School in 1960. He worked for Centralia Container for 25 years selling boxes. Ronald had a passion for golf. He was a former PGA professional and was the head professional at Meadow Woods for six years. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
A celebration of life service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday at Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia. Friends may call from 5 to 6 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
