Earline Bowlin

---- — Earline C. Bowlin, 87, of Prescott, Ariz., formerly of Mt. Vernon, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family at 2:38 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2013.

She was born Monday, Feb. 22, 1926, in Spring Garden Township, Jefferson County, the daughter of Earl and Ferba (Willis) Carroll. She married Harley J. Bowlin, Jr. on Oct. 28, 1945, in Sesser, and he preceded her in death on May 5, 2006.

Earline worked at the Mt. Vernon Shoe Factory until retiring and was a lifetime member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Mt. Vernon and participated in many activities there. She loved shopping, diamonds, eating at Red Lobster, Elvis, gospel music and her favorite color was purple. She recently moved to Prescott, Ariz. to be closer to her family. She also leaves behind her shih zu “Kandi KoKo”, who was her constant companion and motivational driving passion that kept her active for the last five years.

She is survived by her son, Russell L. Bowlin and wife Susan of Prescott Valley, Ariz.; daughters, Lana McWilliams and husband Andre of Phoenix and Carole Taft of Tempe, Ariz.; sister, Freda Dodson and husband Jim of Mt. Vernon; brother, Wayne Carroll of Neoga; 12 grandchildren, Penny Platt Gaskins and husband Todd, Christopher Reichenbacher and wife Jennifer, Wade Bowlin, Shane and Lee Reichenbacher, Kris Austin, Kevin Austin and partner James, Truman Tucker III and wife Mandy, Deryke Tucker, Sr. and Michelle Wells and husband Paul; great-grandchildren, Erica and Brandon Boyer, Brieanna, Holden, Alexis, Maci, Connor and Nichole Reichenbacher, Paul Wells Jr., Savanah Wells, Truman Tucker IV, Trumaine, Nevah and Trumarion Tucker and Deryke Tucker, Jr., Alex and Alexiana Tucker; great-great-grandchildren, Zein, Xavier, Jamison, Lillie Boyer and Reese Austin; and several nieces and nephews and family and friends who love her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, Kenneth Carroll; sisters, Bernadette Carroll, Rosella Fowler and Doris Pickett; and a grandson, Jordan McWilliams.

Funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon with the Rev. Paul Widicus officiating. Interment will be at Kirk Cemetery in Ina.

Visitation will be held from noon until the time of service at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.
