Emma Lou Pasley, 89, of Mt. Vernon, went to be with the Lord at 12:10 a.m. Saturday, May 11, 2013, at Good Samaritan Regional Health Center in Mt. Vernon.
She was born Sunday, Feb. 24, 1924, in Mt. Vernon, the daughter of Charles R. and Emma Louisa (Reis) Estes. She married Leonard Pasley on May 24, 1942, in St. Charles, Mo., and he preceded her in death on April 28, 2000.
Emma was a homemaker. She worked with Hope Ministries at Central Christian Church in Mt. Vernon and she was a member of Meadowbrook Christian Church in Mt. Vernon. She loved gardening and flowers, her grandchildren, and her church family were all very special to her.
She is survived by son, Bruce Leonard Pasley and wife Trish of Opdyke; two daughters, Sandra Shipman of Weldon Spring, Mo. and Dianne Wilson and husband Junior of Opdyke; six grandchildren, Jamie Wilson and wife Marla of Mt. Vernon, Christopher Pasley and wife Sarah of Moreno Valley, Calif., Alisha Rose and husband Andy of Lake Elsinore, Calif., Amanda Richardson and husband Blake of Mt. Vernon, Christy Huse of Wright City, Mo., and Brent Thompson; nine great-grandchildren, Zane Wilson and Levi Wilson, Bella, Xavier and Jude Rose, Eli and Hadley Richardson and Abigail and Dakota Huse; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two infant sisters; one infant brother; two sisters, Marie Hoffman and Eunice Ethridge; and three brothers, Donald, Marvin and Raymond Estes.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon with Mr. Mike Sheets officiating. Interment will be at Old Shiloh Cemetery in Jefferson County.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.
