Kelvin Moore

---- — Kelvin E. Moore, 70, of Woodlawn, died Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at DePaul Hospital in St. Louis.

He was born Saturday, Aug. 1, 1942, in Mt. Vernon, the son of Melvin and Lillie M. (Kirk) Moore. He was married to Sharon L. Pickrum.

Kelvin served our country in the United States Army as a clerk serving in Germany. He was discharged in 1965. He worked for Franks Nursery in St. Louis as theft manager.

He is survived by daughter, Heather Moore and husband Donald Sobolewski of Homewood; granddaughter, Tess Sobolewski of Homewood; brother, Melvin Lee Moore of Breese; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Richard Moore.

Graveside service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Kirk Cemetery in Ina with Pastor Josepha Lecke officiating. Interment will be at Kirk Cemetery in Ina. Members of the Mt. Vernon American Legion Post 141 will conduct full military honors at the cemetery.

In honor of Kelvin’s wishes, no public visitation will be held.

For those who wish, memorials may be given to the Mt. Vernon American Legion Post 141 and will be accepted at the funeral home or mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 721, Mt. Vernon, IL 62864.
