Mark also loved various types of music (jazz was his favorite), movies, watching his niece, Sierra, playing volleyball and spending time with his family and friends.
Mark recently attended his family reunion in Milwaukee, Wis., where he had the privilege to spend time with many of his family members one last time. Mark was a devoted son and often ended conversations with a compassionate “Talk to you later, love!”
Mark was preceded in death by father, Matthew Patrick, Jr.; grandfathers, Kermit T. Johnson and Matthew Patrick Sr.; and grandmothers, Helena (Taylor) Bates and Emma Gene (Blakley) Patrick.
He is survived by his mother, Rowena; five siblings, David (Sandra), Seward, Matthew III, Anthony and Tiffany; three nephews, Derrick, David-Marquis and Matthew IV; one niece, Sierra; great-aunts, Helen Pilate and Joyce Garrett; many aunts and uncles; a host of cousins; and many friends and loved ones.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Second Baptist Church in Centralia with the Rev. Issac Parker officiating. Interment will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at Second Baptist Church from 11:30 a.m. until time of service on Saturday.
