Joan Faye Reyling, 78, of McLeansboro, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Oct. 17, 2013, at 9:45 p.m. at her home. She left this world surrounded by her loved ones at her home.
She was born Oct. 11, 1935, in Hamilton County, the daughter of Cecil and Louise (Helms) Prince. On Aug. 4, 1979, she united in marriage with Leo Reyling and they had 31 years of marriage. He preceded her in death in 2010.
Joan is survived by her four children, George Heimer of McLeansboro, Marsha and husband John Meadows of Harrisburg, Marvin Heimer and friend Beth of Albion and Debbie and husband Gary Nalley of McLeansboro; six grandchildren, Jeff (wife Beth) Stevens, Robby Stevens, Marvin Nalley, Staci and husband Shawn Barker, Tina and husband Scott Craddock and Justin Heimer; two stepgrandchildren, April Meadows and Ashley and husband Chris Maier of Harrisburg; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Virginia Swafford of McLeansboro; cousin, Bob S. Prince of McLeansboro; sister-in-law, Floann Mitchell of McLeansboro; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one infant daughter, Patricia; husband; and three brothers, Carl Prince, Challie Fred Prince and Marvin Prince.
Joan attended Ten Mile Baptist Church and was very appreciative of brother Gray, who came to visit and pray with her in her time of need as did Brother Sefried. Joan loved being with her family, going to gospel singings, watching her gospel DVDs and her little dog Bootsie, who was such a great companion to her.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with the Rev. Jacob and the Rev. Robert Sefried officiating. Burial will be in the St. Johns Cemetery at Piopolis.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. tonight at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
