Richard D. Angle, 76, of Sumner, passed away Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013, at his residence.
He was born Sept. 23, 1937, in Crystal, Mich., the son of O.D. and Iva (Jones) Angle. He married Shirley Allen on Nov. 17, 1956, and she survives in Sumner.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Robert Angle and wife Kim of rural Lawrenceville; one daughter, Sheila Johnston and husband John of Mt. Vernon; one brother, Jackie Angle of Joliet; son-in-law, Jimmie Akers of Lawrenceville; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Deana Akers; two brothers; and one sister.
Richard worked for Caterpillar for 15 years in Aurora, and the Secretary of State for 25 years until retirement. He was a member of the Kendall Masonic Lodge in Yorkville.
Services were held at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville. Burial was at the Petty Township Cemetery.
