Donald Wayne Irvin, age 76, of Dale, passed away 5:33 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013, at his home.
He reunited with his wife of 51 years, Beulah, who preceded him in death on July 20, 2011.
He was retired from CSX Railroad after 47 years of service.
He was born in Twigg Township in Hamilton County on Dec. 20, 1936, the son of Milton and Lillie (Martin) Irvin. He attended Hopewell Baptist Church near McLeansboro.
Survivors include a daughter, Ronda (husband Chris) Brady of Chattanooga, Tenn.; sons, Brad Irvin of Carmi and Tom Irvin of Dale; a daughter-in-law, Terri Irvin of McLeansboro; grandchildren, Adam, Faith and Erin Irvin, Kevin (wife Amanda) Irvin, Koltyn and Jaden Irvin and Noah Hamilton; great-grandchildren, Savannah and Caleb Irvin; sister-in-laws, Anna (husband William) Anderson of McLeansboro, Mary Lou Irvin of Mt. Vernon and Alice Irvin of North Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, Rodney Dale Irvin; sister, Verla Denny and Verla Mae Cobb; brothers, Ewell Irvin, Joel Irvin, Orvil Dean Irvin and Milton Irvin Jr.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, Feb. 24, at 2 p.m. at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro. The Rev. Robert Sefried will conduct the service.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. Sunday until the service time at 2 p.m. at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
