This weekend is one of the showcases for Mt. Vernon, the Cedarhurst Arts and Crafts Fair.
Annually, visitors flock to the grounds of Cedarhurst Center for the Arts for entertainment, to see unique arts and crafts available for purchase. More than 130 crafters and artisans travel from throughout the Midwest to Cedarhurst to demonstrate and show their work. Activities are planned for young and old from the children’s area to the entertainment selections.
Mt. Vernon and Jefferson County are fortunate to have a world class facility like Cedarhurst in its backyard. The craft fair is only one of many events and exhibitions that garner regional attention and attendance.
For those who may not have visited Cedarhurst in the last few months, the craft fair affords and opportunity to explore the grounds. The newly remodeled and expanded Cedarhurst Center for the Arts is open for the public during the week, but will be closed for the craft fair, and a grand opening is slated for Nov. 1
This weekend’s event affords the city and its residents another opportunity — the chance to show the visitors from outside the city and county that we are proud of not only Cedarhurst, but our community.
