Our View: Response was heart-warming

Whew! When we first heard of a missing 2-year-old child being sought in rural Jefferson County, we feared the worst. Thankfully, the child was found safe shortly after being reported as missing.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department, as well as local fire and ambulance services, were called to look for the child and volunteers also were on hand to assist in the search.

The fact that so many people responded so quickly to one family’s distress speaks volumes of the residents in this county and their compassion for neighbors, whether known or not.

We thank those who dropped what they were doing on Tuesday to help find a missing child.
