Dr. Fields will be missed

Editor:

As we grow older, people other than our family and friends gain prominence in our daily decisions. There are the doctor, dentist, lawyer, plumber the handyman, etc.

For us pet owners, this also means the veterinarian to whom we entrust the care of our ailing pets. Such a man is John Fields, who this week, closed his doors to take a well-earned and richly deserved retirement.

He is an excellent vet, who will be sorely missed by us, who made many visits over the years with our various pets. John was a caring, serene and sympathetic listener. He diagnosed and prescribed what he thought best for the pet and also would be best for its owner. He knew that for seniors, the fees could be difficult for some of us and gave us a discount.

This empathy and caring extended also to his excellent office staff, who always greeted you with a smile. So here’s to all of you: May you enjoy good health and sunny days sprinkled with small joys.
