Woodlawn defeats Lady Knights

The Woodlawn Grade School softball team defeated St. Mary Monday in Woodlawn.
St. Mary opened with a 3-0 lead in the top of the first, but Woodlawn outscored the Lady Knights, 15-0, to take a 15-3 victory and improve to 4-1 on the season.
For Woodlawn, they were led byPaige Tufts, who was 2 for 2 with a pair of runs batted in.
Payton Tufts was 1 for 2 and an RBI. Allison England was 2 for 3 with three RBI. Cassandra Lueking was 1 for 3 with a two run homer.
Myka Garner was 1 for 3 with an RBI. Alexa Capps was 1 for 3 with a double. Heather Gomora finished 1 for 3.
Ryann French was 1 for 1 with a triple, while Megan Isaac was 1 for 1 with an RBI.
Tufts improved to 3-1 on the mound after throwing five innings of one hit softball.
She allowed one earned run, four walks, and 13 strike outs.
Woodlawn will play Friday and Saturday at the Centalia Tournament to make up for lost games last week.
