Woodlawn topped Norris City/Omaha/Enfield 3-2.

Logan Isaac earned the win in relief of Matt Kennedy, who pitched five and two-thirds innings.

Bryson Sanders delivered a two-run single in the sixth that was the game-winning hit for Woodlawn.

Webber and Woodlawn meet for the title at 1 p.m. Saturday.

Seeds announced for tennis sectional

The Mt. Vernon’s boys tennis team will have a singles player and doubles team in the top six for Friday’s sectional.

Aaron Neibert enters the sectional as a No. 3 seed. The team of Cody Wilson and Jared Hatton are a No. 6 in doubles.

Nathan Arnold along with the doubles team of Aaron Burge and Brandon Nabors are unseeded.

Friday’s sectional starts at 1 p.m. Players and teams that advance to Saturday’s semifinal qualify for state.

Woodlawn downs Webber softball

Woodlawn’s softball team won its opening round regional game 16-1 against Webber on Tuesday.

Carly Ethridge was the winning pitcher and thew four innings. She finished with seven strikeouts.

Cassandra Lueking had four hits, including a home run, and two RBI. Ryann French added four hits and three RBI. Kelsea Bock adde a hit and two RBI.

Woodlawn is 16-11 and plays in Saturday’s regional final at 11 a.m. against Wayne City or Odin.
