Lady Rams sweep past Carmi

MT. VERNON — The Lady Rams tennis team celebrated a win on senior night Wednesday.

Mt. Vernon beat Carmi 9-0.

Catie Raney and Shubhika Jain both won their singles matches 6-0, 6-0.

They were both very consistent and played with a lot of confidence,” Knox said. “They stroked the ball real well. I'm real happy with them how they took control of the match and didn't let up.”

Gauri Kaushal, a senior, won at No. 3 singles 7-6, 7-5. Amanda Scott, another senior, was victorious 7-5, 6-3.

Abigail Winkler and Shreya Nair both had to be battle to beat their opponents. Winkler won in three sets 6-2, 5-7, 7-6. Nair was down 4-0 in her opening set before rallying to win 7-6. She took the second set 6-3.
