Woodlawn softball wins two
VANDALIA – The Lady Cardinals softball team beat St. Elmo and Vandalia in a doubleheader Saturday.
Woodlawn defeated St. Elmo 17-1 in the opener before downing Vandalia 13-3.
Carly Ethridge was the winning pitcher against St. Elmo. She threw all five innings and finished with five strikeouts while allowing just two hits.
Cassandra Lueking had four hits and three RBI. Sam Williams added three hits and two RBI. Christy Barnes finished with two hits and three RBI.
Paige Tufts was the winner in the second matchup. She pitched a complete game and had three strikeouts while giving up just one earned run.
Lueking had two hits and three RBI. Payton Tufts and Allison England had a hit and RBI each.
Woodlawn is 3-3 this season and hosts Wayne City on Monday.
