McGowen was involved in six sets of tennis for Mt. Vernon. His singles match two and a half hours. He ended with a third-set tiebreak loss 6-4, 5-7, 4-7. McGowen briefly rested before teaming with Austin Martin to win a three-set doubles match 6-2, 2-6, 6-4.
