"I love playing baseball so I'm going to do whatever I have to do to be able to play the game," Henderson said. "I know in college I'll only be pitching so I"ll enjoy that."
The Trojans leaned on the lanky hurler in the postseason. He pitched the Trojans past Woodlawn for the school's first regional title. Henderson silenced the Woodlawn hitters in the game. He threw a complete game and allowed just one earned run in the outing.
Henderson ended his Webber career with numerous all-time records and surpassed the 500 career strikeout mark during the course of his four years.
"Some of his stats from starting for four years are pretty astounding some of the stats he ended up with and records he broke in the four years," Root said.
Henderson continues his baseball career next season at Rend Lake College. He will spend the summer competing for the SI Bullets.
"Hopefully that will get me ready for college," Henderson said.
