Mt. Vernon’s boys track team won the Centralia Invitational title.
David Modert led the Rams with victories in the 1,600 and 3,200 meters. It was two of the nine top finishes for the Rams at the meet.
Mt. Vernon scored 100 points. Other team scores were: Centralia 79, Salem 55, Herrin 32 and Benton 18.
Modert finished the 1,600 meters in a time of 4:38.75. He won the 3,200 meters with a time of 10:04.09.
Other winners for the Rams were: the 3,200 meter relay team of Jake Wilson, Xavies Mooney, Daniel Flood and Ethan Badger in a time of 8:39.28; the 400 meter relay team of Steve Boss, Drew Hester, Crayton Turner and Robert Grider in a time of 45.41; Badger in the 800 meters with a time of 2:05.10; Boss in the 400 meters in a time of 53.21; Brykell Patton in the 300 intermediate hurdles in a time of 43.26 seconds; Grider in the 200 meters with a time of 23.81 seconds; the 1,600 meter relay team of Patton, Modert, Badger and Boss in a time of 3:39.79.
Second-place finishers for the Rams were: Joesph McDaniel in the pole vault with a leap of 13 feet, Jordan Wilemon in the 3,200 meters in a time of 10:22.84, Patton in the 110 high hurdles in a time of 15.81 seconds, Grider in the 100 meters in a time of 11.73 seconds and Wilemon in the 1,600 meters in a time of 4:49.34.
Third-place finishers were: Nic Meyer in the shot put with a throw of 44 feet, four and a half inches, Hester in the 110 high hurdles with a time of 16.55 seconds, Jake Wilson in the 800 meters with a time of 2:08.15 and Crayton Turner in the 400 meters in a time of 56.36 seconds.
Fourth-place finishers were: Logan Kulinski in the pole vault with a leap of 11 feet, Luke Wilson in the triple jump with a leap of 37 feet, 11 inches; Meyer in the discus with a throw of 117 feet, four and a half inches; the 800 meter relay team of Travontae Wilborn, Dylan Reeves, Joe Davis and Luke Wilson in a time of 1:43.55 and Turner in the 200 meters in a time of 24.96 seconds.
Dylan Reeves placed fifth in the triple jump with a leap of 34 feet, 10 inches.
Sixth-place finishers were: Tyler Bradley in the discus with a throw of 112 feet, six inches; Tyler Williams in the 3,200 meters in a time of 12:17.20 and Travontae Wilborn in the 200 meters with a time of 25.15 seconds.
