ALHAMBRA — Mt. Vernon’s boys cross country team advanced to the sectional with a fourth-place finish at Saturday’s Highland regional.
Mt. Vernon finished with a score of 87, and David Modert led the Rams with a fifth-place finish in a time of 16:28. Mascoutah’s Noah Affolder won the individual title in 15:50. Waterloo won the team title with a score of 56.
Other results for the Rams were: Jordan Wilemon ninth (16:55), Daniel Flood 16th (17:16), Ethan Badger 25th (17:30), Hagan Schneider 32nd (17:53), Tyler Williams 44th (18:29), Brykell Patton 47th (18:34).
A total of 75 runners competed in the regional. Mt. Vernon travels to Decatur for the sectional on Saturday, Nov. 2.
