“All of our players displayed a lot of determination and played well in the 95-degree heat,” Mt. Vernon coach Randy Knox said. “I liked the ground strokes and net game of Jade and Catie at No. 1. They seemed confident and played well together.
“Shubhika and Liz really hustled and placed the ball well at No. 3 doubles. They seemed to be in control of each of their three matches. I was impressed with the composure and strokes under pressure by our freshmen Shreya and Anessa.”
Mt. Vernon is back in action today at home against Benton.
