---- — Rams gridiron club to meet

The Rams Gridiron Club will meet Monday.

The club meeting will be at 6:45 p.m. in the football meeting room at the stadium.

Lady Rams finish second in triangular

Mt. Vernon’s girls track team placed second in in a triangular meet with Mascoutah and O’Fallon.

The Lady Rams finished with 60 points. O’Fallon won with 118, and Mascoutah had 57 points.

Charde Golliday won a trio of events. Golliday won the 100 meters in a time of 12.58 seconds. She also was victorious in the 200 meters with a time of 26.79 seconds. Golliday won the long jump with a leap of 37 feet, six inches.

Aaliyah Palmer was the winner in the shot put with a throw of 37 feet, six inches.

Second-place finishers were: Abbie Thompson in the 800 meters in a time of 2:33.7 and Thompson in the long jump with a leap of 14 feet, nine inches; Ashley Paulson in the 300 hurdles in a time of 56.78 seconds and the 1,600 meter relay team of Paulson, Thompson, Kaelynn Hendricks and Charde Golliday in a time of 4:36.06.

Mt. Vernon girls track places seventh at Mascoutah

The Lady Rams track team finished with 53 points in the recent Mascoutah Invitational.

Mt. Vernon placed seventh out of nine teams. Freeburg won the invitational with 148 points.

Charde Golliday won the 200 meters in a time of 27.92 seconds. Golliday was also second in the long jump and 400 meters.

Aaliyah Palmer placed third in the shot put and discus. Abbie Thompson was third in the 800 meters.

Allie Skobel was fifth in the 3,200 meters in a time of 13:37.72.

Lady Devils compete in Carmi Invite

The Sesser-Valier/Waltonville girls track team finished the Carmi Invitational with 28 points.

The Lady Devils finished with a pair of second-place finishes.

Emily VanDeveer was second in the high jump with a leap of 4 feet, 10 inches. The 1,600 meter relay team of Kristen Wylie, Savannah Boles, Michelle Ort and Chelsea Miller was second in a time of 4:44.

The 800 meter relay team of Wylie, Boles, Ort and Miller finished third in a time of 1:56.
