---- — Woodlawn rips Sandoval baseball

Woodlawn’s baseball team knocked off Sandoval 13-3.

Matt Kennedy was the winning pitcher for Woodlawn. He finished with a strikeout and allowed five hits.

Derek Kehrer had a hit and three RBI. Brendan Petersen added a hit and three RBI. Logan Isaac finished with a hit and an RBI.

Woodlawn is 12-6 this season and travels to Grayville today.

Rams tennis falls to Centralia

Mt. Vernon’s boys tennis team lost 8-1 to Centralia on Tuesday.

Aaron Burge was the lone winner for the Rams in singles action.

Mt. Vernon is 7-3 this season and hosts Effingham on Thursday.

Lady Devils win four events

The Sesser-Valier/Waltonville girls track team recorded four wins at West Frankfort.

Chelsea Miller won the 100 meters (12.86 seconds). Other wins were: the 800 meter relay team of Savannah Boles, Michelle Ort, Emily VanDeveer and Miller (1:51); VanDeveer in the high jump (4 feet, 8 inches) and Rae Lappin in the triple jump (32 feet, 10 inches).
