MT. VERNON —
Mt. Vernon's Braydon Riley answered back when he found an opening about 18 yards out. His shot found the upper portion of the net and restored the Rams three-goal edge at 4-1.
Teutopolis made the game close with a pair of scores in the final six minutes. The first came off a rebound shot. The Wooden Shoes then received another penalty kick when Mt. Vernon's Joseph McDanel was called for a hand ball inside the box.
“The two calls in the box could have gone either way, but I'm not going to complain about them,” Duncan said.
Mt. Vernon is 3-2 this season and hosts Effingham on Wednesday.
