Ed Helms of 'The Office,' 2 more get Knox degrees

 

GALESBURG (AP) — Television star Ed Helms of "The Office" comedy series will deliver the commencement address June 8 at Knox College in Galesburg.

Helms will receive an honorary degree that day along with Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan and Lawrence Breitborde. Breitborde is vice president for academic affairs and dean at Knox.

Helms is best known for his character Andrew Bernard on the long-running series "The Office." He's co-starred in "The Hangover" franchise comedy films and starred in 2011's "Cedar Rapids" and "Jeff, Who Lives at Home" in 2012.

Madigan was sworn in in 2003 as the state's first woman attorney general. She has spoken at the college previously.

Breitborde has numerous publications and research supported by the National Science Foundation, National Endowment for the Humanities and others.
