WEST FRANKFORT (AP) — A southern Illinois man accused of dousing his girlfriend with chemicals and setting her on fire will go on trial in April.
The (Carbondale) Southern Illinoisan (http://bit.ly/Wtu2Iu) says a Franklin County judge on Wednesday affirmed that 28-year-old Christopher Rollins' trial will begin April 2.
The West Frankfort man has pleaded not guilty to aggravated battery.
West Frankfort police have said that emergency responders dispatched last August to a report of a woman burning in a backyard found smoke coming from the home, then found 22-year-old victim Tessa Leech and components of a meth lab.
Leech survived but sustained burns over much of her body.
