Hunting eggs

MT. VERNON — — It was Easter eggs galore on Saturday as several churches, organizations and businesses held different types of Easter egg hunts. The Mt. Vernon Jaycees held its third annual Easter egg hunt at the Cedarhurst Center for the Arts Kuenz Sculpture park, and for a fifth year, First Presbyterian Church held a mission Easter egg hunt. Church members raised money to allow 25 cent donations per each egg, and the happy hunters chose whether to send their donations to Lifeboat Alliance, area children’s homes or Marion Medical Mission, which builds wells in Africa. There were also Easter egg hunts at Dawson Park, West Salem Trinity United Methodist Church, White Oak Rehabilitation Center and, on Sunday, at Family Video.
