Road conditions snowy, icy

MT. VERNON — The Jefferson County Emergency Management Agency is reporting snowy and icy road conditions throughout the county.

The Jefferson County EMA, in its situation report for the Illinois Emergency Management Agency, reported 3 1/2 to 4 inches of snow has accumulated in the county, causing poor road conditions, however, the Interstates are open at this time.

Two injuries have been reported due to accidents on Interstate 57.

In addition, the report notes no power outages are in effect, all schools in the county are closed at this time, and both hospitals are operating at normal conditions.
