Mobile home destroyed in fire

WOODLAWN — Firefighters from several area departments were called to a mobile home fire in Woodlawn shortly after 9 a.m. Monday.

No one was home when the fire started. Charlena Mendez had taken her two daughters, ages 11 and 7, to school and discovered the fire when arriving back home. A male occupant of the home, Gregoric Paxtron, was also able to escape the fire without injury.

The mobile home, located in the West Haven Mobile Home Park west of Woodlawn High School, was considered a total loss. The cause of the blaze is unknown at this time.

Woodlawn, Waltonville, Irvington and Jefferson Fire Protection District all responded to the fire. Flames were showing when Woodlawn firefighters arrived and the mobile home was full involved when JFPD personnel arrived.
