The "R" word

MT. VERNON — — Students of Rome Grade School in Dix signed a pledge after attending an assembly of a campaign called Spread the word to end the word on Tuesday. By taking the pledge the students are challenged to talk to others and spread the word about thinking and writing with respect. The program is to build awareness for society to stop and think about the use of the "R" word. The staff at Career Development Center of Fairfield led the assembly.
